Annual Service of Remembrance and the Christmas Lights Display
are two more responsibilities of the Town Council.
Each year the Town Council maintains those areas close to
and around the Abbey Cloister Garth, planting flowers and
grass cutting. The Council also cuts grassed areas and maintains
flowers beds in parts of the West End in a reciprocal arrangement
with Tynedale Council which in its turn cuts grass
and maintains flowerbeds in the East end of Hexham.
